Ten reasons the East Ridge holds you
Rewritten from the old journal: 10 Reasons why you need to visit Kabesera Cafe in Angono, Rizal.
We opened the sanctuary on 27 October 2023. The first note on the old site listed ten reasons to come. They still hold. This is the same list, written as the ridge actually lives.
One: the air. Eastridge sits above Laguna de Bay. The climb is the reset.
Two: the view from the top. Binangonan, Angono, Taytay, the lake, then Metro Manila — one horizon.
Three: sunset that does not hurry. Gold on the water, then on the decks.
Four: city lights after the last pink. A date, a vow, a quiet table.
Five: coffee that names the farm. Cordillera, Batangas, Mindanao. No middleman.
Six: a kitchen that names the lot. Adobo, sisig, kalderita — House of Pokbod, five sides.
Seven: K-Boodle when the van is a crowd. Rice is automatic.
Eight: Angono is the art capital. Petroglyphs, Botong, Higantes — start the loop from here.
Nine: you can sleep. Eight ridge rooms. Morning is already on the terrace.
Ten: every visit is counted. Trees, cups not thrown, pesos that stay local. Net Zero 2050 is not a seal. Cut first. A bought credit is the last kilo, not the path.
