A weekend on the ridge

The old weekend guide said the room was warm and earthy. True. It left out the clock.

Saturday: arrive before ten. Espresso from a named lot. Walk the decks while the lake is still silver. Hold a cabana if the barkada is coming. K-Boodle at two if you are more than four.

Late afternoon is not for leaving. Golden hour is the house’s favorite shift. Book the sunset deck with the day so the kitchen is ready.

Sunday: coffee, then the art loop — Petroglyphs, Botong, a gallery, back for the lights. If you slept here, breakfast is Rizal eggs and a named sack of rice.

What to pack: a light layer for the ridge wind, and an appetite that can wait for sunset.
